David Lloyd-Brown - Group Supervisor

David is a BACP senior accredited supervisor who runs a private online counselling and clinical supervision practice.
David took over as the SCS group supervisor in 2013 after completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Consultative Supervision at the University of South Wales.
Aside from his professional and voluntary therapeutic work with SCS, David has been commissioned by the BACP to design a contracting template for their Private Practice Division and been asked to create and present a workshop on “Burnout and Vicarious Trauma”, which he presented to the BACP’s Supervision Conference in London in 2022.

David is currently a member of the BACP’s Good Practice in Action Resource Group.

Meurig Nicholas - Group Secretary

Meurig is a Registered Counsellor and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). Meurig studied for his ABC Awards Level 4 Diploma in the Theory and Practice of Counselling with Well Training Ltd. 

Meurig completed his placement hours with Swansea Counselling Service in 2010.

He has been a volunteer with the group since then and since 2013 has held the position of Secretary. Meurig has also undertaken work as a Gambling Intervention Worker for WCADA, currently known as Adferiad. Meurig has worked for Swansea Carers, People’s First Disability Group and more recently Chatterbox, a Men’s Mental Health group, which combines an hour of gym exercise followed by an hour of group counselling and on a one-to-one basis, when required.

Emma Shears - Group Service Coordinator 

Emma is a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, currently registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Emma studied at Swansea University for her BA Hons Psychology (2001) and Dip HE Psychotherapeutic Counselling (2013- 2017).  

Emma currently volunteers with Swansea Counselling Service (SCS) as the Service Coordinator, taking client enquiries and liaising with counsellors for client sessions.

Emma has been a volunteer at SCS since 2015.
